Argentina is the land of the Gaucho and they obviously take their horses seriously so I was soon swept away by the enthusiasm of the crowd. I think this is the first horse racing event I’ve ever attended so I have little to compare it with but I did come away with the clear impression that I was seeing something that was enjoyed by local Argentinians and was not something that was laid on for tourists. It’s free.
